Our Mission Statement
We the members of the New England Large Format Photography Collective, join together to share ideas, goals, and vision. We seek to achieve the highest possible standard in large format photographic expression, through the support of personal growth. We are committed to foster an open forum for the dispersion of knowledge, ideas, print-shares, technical demonstrations, fieldwork, and group exhibits employing disciplines of the past and the technology of tomorrow.
NELFPC Members & Friends
The New England Large Format Photography Collective originated in October 2003. Seven Large Format photographers with similar interests met at a studio in Springfield Massachusetts with an idea towards fostering a greater awareness of Large Format photography. Each of the charter members had varied backgrounds in photography, some ran full time photography studios, others were dedicated to photography as a spare time avocation. Their passion was the Large Format camera and it’s power to best portray their artistic goals.
The group thus formed, which now numbers over 20 and has annually held Large Format oriented events, exhibitions and multi-day symposiums. With each event NELFPC solidifies it’s position in the Large Format community while creating a greater awareness of Large Format photography.
In 2008 NELFPC began using the power of the Internet to create an ever growing network of Large Format photographers willing to donate their photographs to raise money for Cancer survivors and their families. Contributions have come from as far away as Italy, Japan, Canada and nearly every state in the US. NELFPC continues to partner with the Middlesex Cancer Center in Middletown, Connecticut. To date a series of exhibitions have raised over $30,000 to aid cancer survivors and their families.
